About IIT Bombay
IIT Bombay sits on a 545-acre campus in Powai, wedged between Powai Lake and the edge of Sanjay Gandhi National Park — a setting that occasionally delivers leopard sightings along with semester deadlines. Founded in 1958, it was the second IIT after Kharagpur and has since become the institute most associated with Indian tech ambition. Come December, the campus splits its attention between Mood Indigo — the cultural festival started in 1971 that routinely draws 150,000+ attendees and holds a Limca Book of Records citation for international artists [¹] — and Techfest, the student-run science and technology festival founded in 1998 with 180,000+ footfall and UNESCO patronage [²]. Student life runs on Insti slang, inter-hostel sports-week rivalries (H4 vs H7, always), and very strong opinions about mess food. The institute's alumni roster includes Nandan Nilekani (Infosys co-founder, 1978 Electrical Engineering) and Bhavish Aggarwal (Ola founder, 2008 Computer Engineering). If you wore out a pair of chappals on that slope to the main gate, the merch is for you.
About our Bottles
750 ml double-wall stainless steel with a vacuum-sealed lid that twists shut in a quarter turn. Keeps cold for 24 hours, hot for 12. The exterior is powder-coated matte and laser-engraved — not a stuck-on label that peels at the dishwasher. Hand-wash recommended to keep the powder coat. Engraving covers institute name, batch, or a dept-specific design, depending on the variant you pick.

FAQs about IIT Bombay
Do you deliver to IIT Bombay hostels in Powai?
Yes — Mumbai deliveries typically arrive in 3–5 business days. IIT Bombay has hostels H1 through H17 (plus newer wings), so make sure your shipping address includes the hostel number and your room number. Most hostel reception desks will hold parcels, but we recommend using your hostel address with your name exactly as it appears on the parcel to avoid mix-ups during busy semester periods.
When is the IIT Bombay convocation, and should I order ahead?
IIT Bombay typically holds its convocation in August or September. If you want merch — hoodies, tees, or keepsakes — for the big day, we recommend placing your order at least two weeks before the ceremony to allow time for production and delivery. Custom or bulk orders (e.g., for your batch or department) need 10–14 days of lead time, so plan accordingly.
Do you sell official Mood Indigo or Techfest merchandise?
We are not the official merchandise vendor for Mood Indigo or Techfest — those are run by the respective fest committees on campus. What we do offer is year-round IIT Bombay-themed merchandise: campus prints, department-specific designs, Insti culture references, and hostel gear. So whether it's October or March, you can rep Bombay without waiting for fest season.
Can we place a bulk order for a hostel wing, club, or department?
Absolutely. For orders of 15 or more units we offer bulk pricing and can accommodate custom prints — hostel numbers, club names, department (CSE, Met, Aero, etc.), or batch year. Lead time for bulk orders is 10–14 business days from artwork approval. Drop us a line at bulk@iitianvibes.com with your quantity, design brief, and delivery timeline and we'll send you a quote.
Can I customise a piece with my department or hostel?
Yes, with some caveats. For bulk orders (15+ units), department text (e.g., CSE '26 or Metallurgy) and hostel numbers are straightforward to add — just mention it when you email bulk@iitianvibes.com. For single-unit custom requests, we handle these case by case; reach out via the contact form with what you have in mind and we'll confirm feasibility and cost before you order.
