About IIT Ropar
IIT Ropar was established in 2008 — one of eight new IITs created in that wave — and ran its first classes at IIT Delhi before shifting to its Rupnagar, Punjab campus in August 2009 [¹]. The permanent campus is 525 acres on the Sutlej riverbank at the foothills of the Shivalik Range, built on what was once Birla Seed Farms land [¹]. The entrance gate is hard to miss: four 41-foot stone-carved pyramid pillars inspired by Indus Valley civilisation, built with the Archaeological Survey of India, and a freestanding DNA helix called The Spiral [¹]. Academic blocks are named after Ramanujan, J. C. Bose, Har Gobind Khorana, and Visvesvaraya. October belongs to Zeitgeist, the cultural fest that draws over 30,000 students from across North India [²]; February brings Advitiya, the technical fest, and Aarohan, the sports meet [²]. The institute runs a School of Artificial Intelligence and AWaDH, a national hub for agriculture and water technology. NIRF 2024 placed it 22nd in engineering and 45th in research [¹].

Do you deliver to IIT Ropar's Rupnagar campus?
Yes — we deliver to IIT Ropar's permanent campus in Rupnagar, Punjab. Rupnagar is a smaller city and couriers typically route through Chandigarh first, so allow 5–6 business days from dispatch rather than the 3–5 days you'd expect for a metro address. When placing your order, include your hostel name, room number, and the full campus PIN (140001) in your shipping address to ensure it doesn't get mis-routed to Ropar town.
When is IIT Ropar's convocation, and should I order early?
IIT Ropar holds its annual convocation in July — the 14th Convocation was on 16 July 2025, for example. If you're ordering merch to mark the occasion — hoodies, tees, or keepsakes for your batch — place your order at least two weeks before the ceremony to account for production time and the Punjab delivery window. Custom or bulk batch orders need 10–14 business days from artwork approval, so plan early.
Do you sell Zeitgeist or Advitiya fest merchandise?
We are not the official vendor for the Zeitgeist or Advitiya fest committees — those teams manage their own merchandise during the events. What we carry is year-round IIT Ropar-themed gear: campus prints, Sutlej riverbank references, department pieces, and batch customisation. Zeitgeist is in October and Advitiya in February, but you can rep IIT Ropar any time without waiting for fest season.
Can we place a bulk order for a hostel, club, or department?
Absolutely. For orders of 15 or more units we offer bulk pricing and can add custom text — hostel name, club or committee name, department abbreviation (CSE, EE, ME, Biomedical, etc.), or batch year. Lead time is 10–14 business days from artwork approval. Email bulk@iitianvibes.com with your quantity, design brief, and required delivery date and we'll send a quote within 24 hours.
Can I customise a piece with my department or batch year?
Yes. Bulk orders (15+ units) are the most straightforward route — mention your department (e.g., CS '27) or hostel name when you write to bulk@iitianvibes.com and we'll work it into the design. For single-unit custom requests, we handle these case by case; use the contact form to describe what you have in mind and we'll confirm feasibility and pricing before you commit.
