Official 2027 timeline on the programme site: 'Oct 21, 2026 Application portal opens', 'Nov 16, 2026 Application deadline', interviews Jan 2027, offers Feb 2027, internship 1 Jul - 30 Sep 2027. Also 'Travel and accommodation assistance'. Stipend amount not printed on the org page. The 'About' paragraph still says 'during the summer of 2026' (stale copy); the timeline block is the 2027 one, so the quote is taken from the timeline. Aimed at students held back by financial/regional constraints; FAQ says students without such constraints may still apply. Found via a GSO aggregator post that linked to this mpg.de site.
