The honest scoreboard: Optiver ₹2.5 Cr at Hyderabad, Da Vinci ₹2.44 Cr at KGP, 500+ offers at Bhubaneswar (yesterday), 12 IITs disclosing nothing at all.

IIT Roorkee opened the 2025-26 placement season on 2 December 2025 with 436 offers on Day 1 (428 domestic + 8 international), naming NVIDIA, Qualcomm, D.E. Shaw, Google, Amazon and Texas Instruments among 14 Day 1 recruiters. The recovery matters because 2023-24's 79.66% placement rate (down from 98.54% in 2021-22) was flagged by a Parliamentary Standing Committee, and 2024-25 total offers dropped 21% while recruiter count dropped 37% year-on-year. IIT BHU publishes no CSE-only average or median. The closest official figures: a ₹23.49 LPA average for all B.Tech students in 2024-25 (92.33% B.Tech placement rate, ₹2.20 crore top offer from Databricks), and a ₹29.33 LPA institute-wide average in the 2025-26 opening week, with a ₹1.67 crore top offer from NK Securities Research, 1,005 offers by 5 December 2025 and 17 students at ₹1 crore+ on Day 1. IIT Madras's official CPC report puts the B.Tech CSE average package at ₹53.2 LPA and the median at ₹46 LPA for 2024-25, up from a ₹37.5 LPA median in 2023-24.
