What Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2026-27 is

5,500 scholarships a year for professional degrees, paid annually for the full course (2-5 years)

Who can apply

first-year students of professional courses (B.Tech, MBBS etc.) admitted in 2026-27 who are wards or widows of ex-servicemen/ex-Coast Guard, with 60%+ in Class 12/diploma; second years and above, lateral entrants, and wards of paramilitary/civilians cannot apply

The organiser's rules Dependent wards/widows of Ex-servicemen & Ex-Coast Guard personnel; admitted to 1st year of an eligible professional course in the current academic year (except lateral entry); 60% and above in the minimum educational qualification (10+2/Diploma/Graduation); wards of civilians including paramilitary not eligible
