What Yale SOM Silver Scholars: Round 2 is

Yale's full-time MBA straight out of college: first year of core at Yale, then one or more years of full-time work, then return to finish electives

Who can apply

Final-year undergrads graduating between 1 Aug 2026 and 31 Jul 2027 (the 2027 batch, any branch), or students in a master's taken straight after undergrad; anyone who has already started full-time work is outside the Silver Scholars route and applies to the regular MBA.

The organiser's rules The Silver Scholars Program was designed as an opportunity for students to enter our full-time MBA program directly from their academic studies, before acquiring full-time work experience. Candidates are predominantly college seniors who seek to begin the program immediately upon completing their undergraduate studies. The program is also open to students enrolled in a graduate program immediately following their undergraduate studies. If you are a college senior and your degree will be conferred between August 1, 2026 and July 31, 2027, you may apply in any round of the 2026-2027 application cycle.

Copied word for word from Yale School of Management's own page, so you can check it yourself:

“If you meet the criteria to be considered for the Silver Scholars Program, you may apply in any of the three rounds within the 2026-2027 application cycle (Round 1: September 15, 2026; Round 2: January 6, 2027; Round 3: April 7, 2027), regardless of whether your graduation date falls before or after the deadline for the round in which you are applying.”

Desk notes

Round 1 (15 Sep 2026) has passed, so the countdown is to Round 2, 6 Jan 2027; Round 3 is 7 Apr 2027. Unlike HBS 2+2 and Wharton Moelis, this is not a deferral: you start the MBA right after graduating and do the work years in the middle. The page links a '2026-2027 Application Guide'. The quote's fuller eligibility rules (early graduates, people already working) live further down the same page.
