About IIT Jodhpur
IIT Jodhpur was established in 2008 — initially as IIT Rajasthan, inaugurated at mentor campus IIT Kanpur on 2 August 2008 with its first batch of 112 students [¹]. The permanent 852-acre campus sits in Karwar village on NH-62, roughly 22 km from the city, embedded in the arid fringe of the Thar Desert — dust storms in May, star-filled skies most nights, and the Blue City's sandstone skyline faintly visible from the upper floors. Designed as a self-sustaining desert oasis, buildings shade each other, are clad in local Jodhpur sandstone, and run on a 15 MW solar farm [²]. The institute runs Ignus, its annual socio-cultural festival, and Varchas, billed as Rajasthan's largest sports fest, held each February in Jodhpur's national-level stadiums [³]. Prometeo, the national technical and entrepreneurship festival, rounds out the calendar. Alumni are few but sharp — first batches now approaching a decade in industry. Do you deliver to IIT Jodhpur's Karwar campus?

The campus is about 22 km outside Jodhpur city, so couriers route through the city first; allow 5–6 business days from dispatch. Include your hostel name, room number, and the full PIN 342030 in your shipping address to prevent re-routing to a Jodhpur city address.
When is IIT Jodhpur's convocation, and should I order in advance?
IIT Jodhpur holds its annual convocation ceremony typically between June and November — the 10th Convocation was on 26 October 2024, and the 11th on 26 June 2025. Dates shift year to year, so keep an eye on iitj.ac.in for the official announcement. If you're ordering merch to mark the day, place your order at least two weeks before the ceremony to account for production and the Karwar delivery window. Bulk or custom batch orders need 10–14 business days from artwork approval.
Do you sell Ignus or Varchas fest merchandise?
We are not the official vendor for the Ignus cultural fest or Varchas sports fest committees — those teams manage their own event merchandise. What we offer is year-round IIT Jodhpur-themed gear: campus prints, Thar Desert references, Karwar life designs, and department-specific pieces. Whether it's Ignus weekend or a quiet Tuesday in the desert, you can rep IITJ without waiting for fest season.
Can we place a bulk order for a hostel, club, or department?
Absolutely. For orders of 15 or more units we offer bulk pricing and can add custom text — hostel name, club or committee name, department (CSE, EE, ME, Civil, Chemical, etc.), or batch year. Lead time for bulk orders is 10–14 business days from artwork approval. Email bulk@iitianvibes.com with your quantity, design brief, and required delivery date and we'll send a quote within 24 hours.
Can I customise a piece with my department or hostel name?
Yes. For bulk orders (15+ units), adding department text (e.g., CSE '26) or a hostel name is straightforward — mention it when you write to bulk@iitianvibes.com.
