About IIT Patna
IIT Patna was established by an Act of Parliament on 6 August 2008 — one of the new-generation IITs created to extend technical education into states long underserved by it. The permanent campus at Bihta sits on 501 acres of the Ganga plains, about 35 km west of Patna city, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2015 [¹]. Bihar's deep roots in learning — from the Nalanda ruins to the Buddhist circuit at Bodh Gaya — give the campus a particular historical weight. Since 2010 the institute has run Anwesha, its annual four-day Techno-Cultural-Management extravaganza that has grown into one of east India's most anticipated youth festivals [²]. Celesta (techno-management, Oct–Nov) and Reverberance (the Diwali inter-year cultural tournament, running since 2008) complete the calendar. The institute ranked 19th among engineering institutions and 36th overall in NIRF 2025, and inaugurated a Class 1000 clean room for semiconductor research in 2023. When is the IIT Patna convocation?
IIT Patna typically holds its convocation in August — the 12th Convocation was on 26 August 2025, conferring a record 1,320 degrees including BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD awards. Do you sell official Anwesha or Celesta fest merchandise?
We are not the official vendor for Anwesha or Celesta — those are handled by the respective fest committees. What we offer is year-round IIT Patna-themed merchandise: campus prints, department tees, batch hoodies, and Bihar-inspired designs. So whether it's mid-semester or the week before Anwesha kicks off, you can rep IITP any time of year.
Can we place a bulk order for a hostel, club, or department at IIT Patna?
Absolutely. For 15 or more units we offer bulk pricing with fully custom prints — hostel name, club or society name, department (CSE, EE, ME, etc.), or batch year.
